The rock of Saint Peter is a foundation that has more than the stuff of history and analogy in its use as a symbol. This site may have as it’s founding leader, another Peter, Sir, not Saint, one who himself made a television series, “inside The Vatican,” but there, such a comparison is an allusion, if not an illusion. For many, the new Pope is more than a leader. A chair is now filled, a rock is now being built upon. This is more than merely a metaphor. We look to this new, first American, Pope, with the hope that he at least be that. For the world needs real leaders now as ever. We await with enthusiasm the leadership of Pope Leo. In the fight against prejudice, he could and should, contribute much.
