For the Israeli / Palestinian Memorial Day
SHALOM! SALAM!
A Poem For Peace
A Song For Singing
By Lorenzo Cherin
SHALOM! SALAM! You’re sad, I am
Our cry cannot be heard
SHALOM! SALAM! How sad I am
That peace is just a word
SHALOM! SALAM! SHALOM! SALAM!
SHALOM! SALAM! You’re sad, I am
The years of pain we’ve had
SHALOM! SALAM! How sad I am
Good things often turn bad
SHALOM! SALAM! SHALOM! SALAM!
SHALOM! SALAM! Jerusalem
That city’s cry is heard
SHALOM! SALAM! Jerusalem
Tears flow from every word
SHALOM! SALAM! SHALOM! SALAM!
SHALOM! SALAM! Woman and man
Enough of war, we’ve had
SHALOM! SALAM! Your child I am
Some good can come of bad
SHALAM! SALAM! SHALOM! SALAM!
SHALOM! SALAM! SHALOM! SALAM..!
